Event Information

Hockley Hustle started in 2006 and now hosts over 35 venues across Hockley, including Broadway Cafe Bar, Rough Trade, The Bodega, Nottingham Contemporary and JamCafe. 2018’s event raised over £12,000, taking the total money raised across the years to more than £150,000.

Gigantic in association with ROFL will be presenting a very special stage upstairs in The Bodega - be there!

Last year’s event was incredible - the venues and streets of Hockley were full of music, art, and delighted festival goers.

At Hockley Hustle 2019, around 300 Nottingham acts will be performing in over 30 venues, including the latest addition to Nottingham’s creative scene - Metronome.

Well-known for being a springboard for Nottingham musical acts, Hockley Hustle has seen Jake Bugg play at the Broadway Cafe Bar in 2010, with the likes of Natalie Duncan, Ronika, Saint Raymond and Liam Bailey all cutting their teeth at the Hockley Hustle, along with hundreds of other acts. The festival organisers tend to throw in a few surprises each year too: Liam Bailey and Harleighblu dueting with the 60 piece UFO Orchestra, the internationally adored Sheku Kanneh-Mason performing a stunning solo set, four-time World Champion DJ Mr Switch battling award winning beatboxer THePETEBOX, and Hackney Colliery Band marching through town. The streets come alive with carnival atmosphere with jugglers, stilt walkers, choirs and samba bands parading the streets.

This year will be no different, the Hustle delivers unforgettable experiences, every time.

The event supports a number of local charities including: Emmanuel House, Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum, Rethink Mental Health, IMARA and Equation.

Tommy Farmyard and Ben Welch, directors of the festival, said: “Last year was incredible, Hockley was absolutely buzzing. We’re delighted that Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) has come on board as festival sponsors and we’re excited to try the specially brewed Hockley Hustle beer from our mates at Castle Rock Brewery! The Hustle team has grown, there are more promoters involved as well as some genuinely world class, exclusive performances. Once again, we’re looking forward to raising some much-needed money for local charities while celebrating Nottingham culture through another fantastic day and night of great music, street entertainment, street food, and some other very exciting happenings that we can’t talk about just yet. We sold out early on the day last year, so get your tickets in advance to guarantee entry.
